Financial Assistance
PLAY SCHOLARSHIP FUND
The PLAY Scholarship Fund was created because the City of Columbus believes all kids deserve the chance to play regardless of ability to pay. Financially-challenged families with children 18 years and younger can apply for a PLAY scholarship for any fee-based program offered through Columbus Recreation and Parks Department.
PLAY scholarships can be used to cover the cost of one week of summer camp, per eligible participant, up to $90 or a portion of the fees for one class. Campers are allowed only one PLAY scholarship per session. PLAY scholarships do not apply to CRPD Fitness Camp.
A completed PLAY application and proof of eligibility should be submitted when registering for camp or class. Please keep in mind that camp and class sizes are limited.
Proof of Eligibility
- Copy of current Medicaid, CareSource or Molina insurance card
- Copy of current EPPICard
- Copy of the most recent federal income tax return (scale based upon HUD Section 8 guidelines)
Eligible PLAY applicants will need a coupon code to register for camps online. To receive the code, please submit your PLAY application and proof of eligibility prior to Tuesday, June 1. *This deadline has been extended for 2021.*
